LIFE Groups

Growing closer as we prayerfully apply God’s word.

In the fall of 2005 we began LIFE Groups, our church’s small group ministry. Our elders made the decision to start LIFE Groups based upon a strong conviction that small groups are a biblical way for us to reach out, grow closer to the Lord, and grow closer to one to another.

Our LIFE Groups meet with the express purpose of prayerfully applying the Sunday morning sermon. To aid groups in this process LIFE Group members are a provided weekly discussion guides for their meetings. The discussion guide reviews main points from the sermon and presents discussion questions that challenge us to consider how the lesson applies to us.

LIFE Groups at Smyrna meet from the second Sunday in August through the Sunday before Memorial Day. At 5:00 on the second, third, fourth, and fifth Sunday evenings of the school year we have approximately 25 LIFE Groups meeting in different homes and locations throughout Smyrna and the surrounding area.

Meetings are intended to go for about an hour, and many groups follow up their meetings with food and fun. It’s during this time that members really get to know one another and strong Christian friendships are born and maintained.
