WINGS (Women In God's Service) Ministry

What Is "WINGS"

"WINGS" -Women in God’s Service- is the acronym given to the ministries of the women at the Smyrna Church of Christ. WINGS is broken down into three subcommittees of different activities; Outreach, In-reach and Events. For every woman at Smyrna church of Christ, there are many opportunities to serve God!

~ Subcommittees:

♥ Outreach

This is to help us reach out to our community and provide spiritual encouragement and assistance representing the Smyrna church of Christ.

♥ In-reach

The Steering committee involves all interested women of SCC in ministry and provides information regarding these ministries and projects.

♥ Events

Planned women’s events are to encourage fellowship and enhance spiritual development: Ladies Retreat, Hospital Visits, Ladies TEA, Dine-Out, Secret Sisters, etc.

Our Ministries…

♥ "Sewing the Seed" is a group of ladies who enjoy sewing for others. Dresses for mission points, bibs & pillowcases for Shut-Ins and orphans are just a few of their projects.

♥ Esther Book Club is our Moms Bible Class and it meets in Room 401 on Friday mornings at 9:00-10:30 Pre-school child care provided in the Nursery.

♥ Thursday AM Ladies Bible Class 10:00-11:30 is for women with older or no children. Come join us in a time of renewal in Room 206! Also, join us for our 1st Thurs. Luncheons & lots of activities!

♥ "Tabitha" is a fun interactive class for young girls ages 13-18 to learn different aspects of Christian service. Field trips, cooking and a whole lot more!

♥ Children’s Ministry -Bible teachers are always needed! Contact Kelly Anguish.

♥ Sarah Cannon Cancer Basket -donations are welcomed to fill a healthy snack basket for chemo patients at the cancer center.

♥ Shut-In visits are done each week seeing to the needs of our elderly.

♥ "Women @ the Well" -is a monthly in home get together for devotional and dinning. All women are invited and bring a friend!

♥ Magi Boxes are gift shoe boxes filled and sent to children all over the world once a year through Healing Hands International.

♥ Congregational Care: Families in need of food during times of crises, after the birth of a child or are Shut-In are lovingly served by our Food groups. We need good cooks!

♥ Wedding and Baby Showers are given to members in need of these services. Use your creative talents.

♥ Missions Support: Local Hispanic Ministry provides opportunity to teach and speak Bible and Spanish. Mission trips are planned to encourage our Missionary wives.

♥ Military -Prayer and information concerning our members and their families while in the military.

♥ Ladies Retreat is held once every other year and is open to all women!

♥ Hospitali-TEA ~a special dining event which takes place every other year! Come see!

♥ Secret Sisters -Join in the fun to get to know one another better!
